Privacy policy

Chore Chart Maker (chorechartmaker.com) is built so that we don't need your personal information. This policy explains what that means in practice.
The short version
- The names, chores, rewards and other text you put on a chart never leave your browser.
- There are no accounts, no sign-up and no backend that stores charts.
- We don't sell data, show personalized ads or use tracking cookies.
Your charts stay on your device
Charts are built, previewed and exported (PDF, PNG and print) entirely in your browser. To keep your work between visits, the chart is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device. We can't see it. You can delete it at any time with the editor's "Start over" button or by clearing your browser's site data.
Share links
When you copy a share link, the chart is packed into the part of the address after the # sign. Browsers
don't send that part to any server, so the chart isn't uploaded to us. However, anyone who has the link can open the
chart and see everything on it, including names. Only share links with people you trust.
Anonymous usage counts
To learn which features are useful, the site may count anonymous events such as "a reward chart was printed". These events can only carry fixed categories: chart type, theme, paper size, orientation and export format. The code is built so that text you type can't be included, and our automated tests check this. We don't use these counts to identify you.
Hosting and server logs
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data, such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. This data is handled under Cloudflare's privacy policy. All fonts, icons and scripts are served from our own domain, with no third-party trackers.
Cookies
We don't set advertising or tracking cookies. The only thing the site stores in your browser is the chart you are working on, as described above.
Children's privacy
The site is meant to be used by parents, teachers and other adults, often to make charts for children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. A child's name typed onto a chart stays on the device where it was typed.
If you email us
If you contact us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply and keep it only as long as needed to help you. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
Your rights
Because we don't hold chart data or accounts, there is usually nothing about you for us to access, correct or delete. If you've emailed us, you can ask for a copy or deletion of those messages, whichever privacy laws apply to you (such as the GDPR or US state privacy laws).
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top. We won't start collecting chart content without changing how the site works and saying so clearly here first.
